The Supernatural: Home

Local Lore

This guide is meant to be a resource in a public library in the Greater Boston area. It is a large enough library that it would have copies of the fiction books mentioned throughout this guide as well as some of the encyclopedia and reference books. The audience these resources are intended for is mostly young adults up until early thirties. Or for anyone who catches and episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer or The Walking Dead and is looking for more information regarding supernatural lore.

In this guide you will find resources to learn more about that lore as well as many of the representations in pop culture. I focused on five of the most popular creatures in the supernatural world: vampires, werewolves, witches, ghosts and vampires. Each page includes online resources, printed encyclopedias, suggestions for film, TV, and novels. I hope that this guide helps the searches quest into the supernatural and unknown and piques their interest to continue learning more about the unexplained.

What Is The Supernatural?

Have you ever wondered where the idea of zombies came from? How many types of werewolves there are? Or maybe you're in search of the next vampire novel to pick up. This guide is meant to help you on your quest of the supernatural and unexplained whether that be through articles based on research or an episode of True Blood.
